4th Annual Vale Walk-a-thon for Youth Missions
On Saturday, April 23, a team of Vale walkers will set off on the 4th Annual Walk-a-thon for Youth Missions, with the goal of raising $2,500 (or more!) for:
(1) Scholarships and travel incidentals for the MFuge Youth Mission trip this summer. Scholarships will be provided for students from Southeast DC to attend the camp with Vale youth.
(2) Funds for the Youth First Sunday Mission serving the homeless in Washington, D.C. Now in its ninth year, Vale youth gather on the first Sunday of each month to prepare, deliver, and serve a hot meal to the homeless in Franklin Square Park in Washington, DC.
There are several ways you can be a part of this fun event and fundraiser:

There are several ways you can be a part of this fun event and fundraiser:
- SIGN UP TO BE A WALKER. Walkers will complete up to 10 miles on the paved trail running through the W&OD Regional Railroad Park. All Vale youth are encouraged to sign up now, so you can begin your fundraising efforts as soon as possible (see fundraising letter instructions below)! Adults are invited to walk also.
- SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER. If walking isn't your thing, we also need volunteers to help with registration, staff water stations along the way, and provide medical and safety support.
- BE A SPONSOR. Vale walkers will bring the energy and enthusiasm, but they need YOUR financial support to reach their $2,500 goal.
To pledge your support for this effort, make checks out to Vale United Methodist Church with "Walk-a-thon" in the memo section and mail to Vale Church, 11528 Vale Road, Oakton, Virginia 22124.
