Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 1983 of Oakton, Virginia!

Our troop has operated continuously since its charter by Vale United Methodist Church in 1983. It consistently earns the Quality Unit Award from the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are very proud of our scouting program and its members.

Important Summer Camp Information!

Everyone going to summer camp, including adults, must provide a completed physical form (Part B of the Annual Health and Medical Record). This form must be completed and signed by a certified and licensed health-care provider. Please get your completed form to Mr. Burke as soon as possible.

Monday, June 14, 8-9pm (during regular troop meeting): meeting for parents of first-time summer campers.

Tuesday, July 6, 8-9pm: All Hands pre-camp meeting for Scouts and parents to finish collecting forms and going over important last-minute details.

Upcoming Events

June 11-13: Whitewater Rafting trip & campout, Ohiopyle, PA

June 21: Troop Court of Honor and Eagle Court of Honor for Blake A. & Stuart R. We'll also recognize our graduating senior Scouts.

July 10-17: Summer Camp at Goshen Scout Reservation

July 25: BSA Grand Centennial Parade - We are signed up to be a division support unit. This means we help with running a part of the parade; this includes marching, color guards, banner holders, riding on floats, and holding down large balloons (adults only).
