Rank Advancement
Refer to your Scout Handbook for information on rank advancement. As you complete requirements for your next rank, be sure to have your PL, SPL, or the appropriate adult leader sign off and date the item in your Boy Scout Handbook. Refer to the list of scouts approved to sign off, by initialing in a Scout's handbook, Tenderfoot through First Class rank advancement requirements.
Note that Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class rank requirements have changed, effective January 1, 2008. Scouts working on these ranks must include the new requirements. For more information on these changes, refer to the 2008 Rank Requirement Changes on the BSA National Council website.
The BSA National Council website also provides early rank advancement videos that demonstrate how to meet each requirement for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. The troop encourages each scout working toward these ranks to review the videos.
The NCAC website provides Life to Eagle resources and sponsors a Life to Eagle seminar. All Life Scouts should attend before they begin planning their Eagle project.
