Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 1983 of Oakton, Virginia!

Our troop has operated continuously since its charter by Vale United Methodist Church in 1983. It consistently earns the Quality Unit Award from the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are very proud of our scouting program and its members.

We're gearing up for the 2010-2011 school year troop program. We hope everyone had a great summer break. Please note that the website and the monthly calendars are in the process of being updated for the coming year. Be sure to check your emails regularly for the latest information.

Also note that rank requirements changed this year, effective January 1, 2010. For more information on these changes, refer to the 2010 Rank Requirement Changes on the BSA National Council website.

October 23: Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt

November 19-21: Troop Hiking Campout at Old Rag Mountain, VA
